Wild Hake Fillet
In the UK, hake has previously been overlooked in favour of cod or haddock but is starting to gain popularity now. Growing up to four feet in length, hake yield good-sized fillets with a mild flavour that makes it a good match for rich, tomato-based Mediterranean sauces. The firm, large-flaked flesh holds together, making hake fillets a good choice for deep frying or poaching. Or to make a delicious Fish Pie, yummy.
The Fish Society uses traditional fishing methods to source the finest quality fish, freezing it at peak freshness to ensure it tastes just as good at home as it would cooked fresh in the harbour. Their ‘fresher than fresh’ guarantee ensures that every meal is packed with flavour and quality. Traditionally caught in the North Atlantic and are frozen within hours of capture.
