There are a number of studies that suggest organic turkey is a healthier option - higher in Omega 3, Amino Acids and Healthy Fats. You can also be assured that the welfare of organic turkey is higher, they have been fed an organic feed and have plenty of space to run about in and enjoy natural daylight. We get our turkeys from Walters Turkeys, they carefully rear slow growing traditional Bronze turkeys for us, an old-fashioned breed that provides a bird with fantastic flavour and even coverage of meat. The flavour of the bird is made even better by slow growth to natural maturity. This takes 24 weeks and results in meat that’s reliably juicy and tasty, with a tender texture and just the right amount of fat.

Yes. It’s truly better for the bird, the environment and your health. We work with farmer Ed Walters - the Walters Family have been farming at Bower Farm, high on the Berkshire Downs for over 110 years. They have over 50 years’ experience of producing the highest quality fresh organic turkeys purely for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Like us, they are passionate about the welfare of their animals. The question should really be why you can get turkey for so cheap. Organic turkeys are bred for longer, fed on organic feed which is more expensive and kept in much smaller groups on larger areas of land, these factors drive up costs but you are repaid with amazing flavour and much more humane welfare practices.
