Wild Dressed Crab
All of the taste, none of the fuss - part of our Sustainable Fish range.
With succulent white meat as well as deeply flavoured brown meat, a single crab offers great versatility. For many of us, it's the taste of brown-bread sandwiches eaten at the seaside, but crab can also be the basis for elegant dishes with sophisticated flavours. However you choose to eat it, one thing's for sure: it's a bit of a performance getting the meat out. So save yourself the hassle with The Organic Butchery's dressed crab and enjoy delicious crab meat with none of the pernickety picking.
The crab's claws, legs and main body section yield the delicately flavoured, flaky white meat. Brown meat comes from the top shell cavity and is more richly flavoured, with a softer, grainier texture. The low-fat white meat is protein-rich, while the higher-fat brown contains those all-important omega-3 fatty acids.
The Fish Society uses traditional fishing methods to source the finest quality fish, freezing it at peak freshness to ensure it tastes just as good at home as it would cooked fresh in the harbour. Their ‘fresher than fresh’ guarantee ensures that every meal is packed with flavour and quality. Sustainably caught in native waters using gill netting.

While wild seafood can't be classified as organic, we always make sure ours is seasonal and sustainable. Sourced from English coastal waters, our crabs are cooked and dressed as soon as they're landed, so you can be assured of ultimate freshness. Our crabs are pot caught and hand-selected, making sure any under-sized specimens or egg-carrying females are returned alive to the sea.

For an easy but impressive supper, combine brown and white crab meat with al dente linguine, a good squeeze of lemon juice and a generous handful of chopped parsley. The summery flavours are clean and simple but tasty and distinctive. Alternatively, whip up some mini crab cakes to serve as a light starter or canapé. A combination of hot red chilli, fiery ginger and earthy coriander brings out the sweetness of the crabmeat and works beautifully with chilled sparkling wine.
