For such a special time of year, it is only proper to tuck into really special food, and our genuinely free-range Organic Three Bird Roast certainly won’t disappoint a crowd. Featuring three of our finest birds, Award-Winning Turkey, Duck and Chicken this roast is a real showstopper to have as your centrepiece - carve at the table to reveal layer after layer of juicy, tender meat. The roast is wrapped with Nitrate-Free Unsmoked Streaky Bacon which creates a delicious crispy coating as well as keeping the birds nice and moist when cooking. 

At The Organic Butchery, we uphold rigorous welfare standards; which are importantly replicated by our poultry suppliers. All of our birds are100% organic and have the freedom to roam around nutrient rich fields, foraging a natural, balanced diet and indulging in their individual instincts. Our standards are reflected in the quality and flavour of our meat. 

Minimum Shelf Life: Days

Please Note: If you plan to purchase a Three Bird Roast before December 18th, please remember to store it in the freezer until you’re ready to cook it. Properly freezing your three bird roast will ensure it stays fresh and flavourful for your Festive celebrations.

Remove the Three Bird Roast from its wrapping, Place it onto a wire rack, and sit the rack on a plate. Pop the plate into the bottom of the fridge, making sure you have allowed space around the bird for the air to circulate. It is really important to make sure your bird stays cold and dry and must be kept refrigerated below 3°C.

Thawing:
If your roast is frozen, planning for proper thawing is important to ensure even cooking and food safety. For best results, allow 24 hours of thawing time in the refrigerator for every 2.5 kg of meat. For this means you should allow approximately 2 to 3 days for the roast to thaw in the fridge fully.

Here are a few additional tips to ensure your roast thaws properly:

  • Keep it in the original packaging while thawing to prevent any potential contamination or mess from leaking juices.
  • Place the roast on a tray or in a shallow dish to catch any liquid that might escape as it defrosts.
  • Ensure your refrigerator stays at or below 4°C

Avoid thawing the roast on the countertop at room temperature, as this can lead to uneven thawing.

We only rear Traditional Bronze Turkeys, an old fashioned breed that provides a bird with fantastic flavour and an even coverage of meat. The natural flavour of the bird is made even better by slow growth to maturity. This takes up to 24 weeks and results in meat that’s reliably juicy and tasty, with tender texture and just the right amount of fat. All of our turkeys are dry plucked and hung for 10 days so the meat is soft and flavoursome, without any shrinkage in the oven.

Ingredients: Turkey (61.5%), Duck (15.4%), Chicken (15.4%), Nitrate-Free Unsmoked Streaky Bacon (Organic Pork (90.9%), Organic Demerara Sugar, *kosher salt). *denotes non organic, produced to organic standards.

  • Refrigerating and Freezing: Will arrive fresh, refridgerate and use by best before date on packaging, or freeze to enjoy at a later date.

  • We deliver all around mainland Britain, excluding the Highlands and Islands. You will be able to choose your preferred delivery slot at checkout.

  • We can deliver to you Tuesday to Saturday.

    We will pick, pack and deliver your box the day you have requested.

    For every order, we'll send you a text message on the morning it is due to be delivered.

    Our courier will leave it in your requested safe place if you would prefer a contactless delivery.

  • We have a minimum order of £50. 

  • Our Standard Delivery Charge is £4.95 (Tuesday to Friday). There is Free Delivery on Orders Over £120, Receive your order Before 12 pm for £6.95. Saturday Delivery is £6.95

  • No. You can leave a message with your order telling us where you would like to have your box placed. It would be best placed somewhere cool or at least in the shade – especially during the hotter months of the year. Our products will stay at the same temperature for up to 40 hours, so just make sure that you can pick up your order within that time.

    Our couriers will send you a text message or email, whichever you prefer, giving you an hour slot when your box will arrive. If that doesn’t suit you, some options will be provided to make your delivery more convenient.

  • Our products will stay cold and fresh at the same temperature for up to 40 hours. When you receive your box, simply refridgerate and cook before the use by date provided or freeze to enjoy at a later date.

    Delivered Fresh

    To keep your order cool and fresh we use gel ice packs which will retain a low temperature for a long period of time. Reuse them for a picnic or return them to us through our free packaging returns sevice.

     

    Sustainably Insulated

    We use paper pulp sheets to insulate the box. They are great for craft projects or can also simply be recycled with paper waste.

     

  • You can cancel your order within two hours after your online purchase. We can not cancel an order after this period.

    We hope that you enjoy our products. But if for any reason you are unhappy, please let us know why within 28 days of delivery, by sending us the batch number and the reason why you are disappointed with the product. Do not throw the product away as we may need to recall it to confirm the problem.

    As your product is perishable, you will not be asked to return it for us for re-selling.

    When we have looked at the evidence, we will then consider reimbursing you by means of a credit for a future order or resending the product. We will do our very best to respond as quickly as possible and try to resolve it.

Defrost your bird(s) from the freezer and defrost 24 hours before required use in the refrigerator. 

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C/ 180°C fan.
  2. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and place in a deep bottomed roasting tray breast side down.
  3. Roast for approximately 40 minutes per kg (2.5kg - 1hr 40mins, 5kg - 3hr 20mins).
  4. Cook a little longer if you want deliciously crispy bacon (not too long as the birds will dry out) 
  5. Remember that resting is just as important as cooking, it lets the meat relax and the juices to distribute evenly. The residual heat in the bird(s) means it'll continue cooking while it rests, so be brave and remove it from the oven when it's a bit under the ideal 74˚C.
  6. Wrap it in foil so the temperature can continue to rise while you get on with the veg. Don't worry about it getting cold; if it's well wrapped it can happily rest in its own heat for an hour or so.
  7. To test when your three bird roast is done, pierce the middle and check that the juices run clear.
