Good Food, Fast

We all know that feeling; getting in from work late, opening the fridge and feeling overwhelmed and hungry, then reaching for a takeaway menu. But what if you could whip up a meal that's not only healthier and more cost-effective, but also quick?

We’re here to show that a happier meal can be made in under 30 minutes.

Fried Chicken

It seems that the nation has fallen in love with takeaway fried chicken, with chicken shops scattering every town and city street across the country. The combination of low-cost, industrially farmed chicken, high salt flavourings, fried in unstable, trans fats makes for a quick fix meal that won’t deliver on nutritional benefits

8 x KFC fried chicken drumsticks, £14.99 vs 8 x Organic Butchery organic chicken drumsticks £12.55

There's no need for 11 herbs and spices when a chicken tastes as good as ours.

Beef Burgers

Dinner without leaving your car - there’s no doubt that grabbing a drive-thru burger is convenient, but there’s a reason you feel hungry an hour later. The refined carbs in the bun, the extra salt in the burgers and the saturated fat in the oil leads to a spike in blood sugar causing an insulin surge, leading to increased hunger.

We believe a beef burger should taste of beef, so we add a sprinkling of salt and pepper to our organic minced beef steak burgers and nothing else, for a satisfying meal that won’t have you reaching for snacks later.

Once fully cooked, remove the wings from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the wings

A taste of Asia

Chinese has long been a takeaway favourite, but Thai and Japanese are fast catching up. Asian cooking is all about fresh ingredients and vibrant flavours, so why compromise on either, when you can use the finest organic meats and bone broths to recreate an Asian classic.

Wagamama vs The Organic Butchery

1 x Wagamama Chilli Beef Ramen £15 vs 1 x Organic Butchery organic beef skirt steak + 1 x organic beef bone broth £12.44

A bowl of fast lean organic protein and nutritionally dense slow cooked organic bone broth that nourishes more than your soul.

Chilli Beef Ramen

Ingredients:

1 x organic beef skirt steak, sliced
2 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1 crushed garlic clove
2 tsp chilli paste
½ pack organic beef bone broth
100ml water
½ cup water
1 nest dried ramen noodles
Chopped greens (whatever you have: spring greens, spinach, or bok choy)
1 soft boiled egg (optional)

Instructions:

In a small bowl, combine the garlic, 1 tsp soy sauce, ½ tsp sesame oil and 1 tsp chilli paste. Add the beef skirt steak and marinate for 15 minutes.
In a small pan, heat the remaining sesame oil over a medium heat and pour in the organic bone broth and water. Stir in the remaining soy sauce and chilli paste. Bring the broth to a simmer for 10 minutes.
While the broth is simmering, heat a grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated steak for about 3-4 minutes per side. Let the beef rest for a few minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.
Cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Assemble your ramen:
Place the cooked ramen noodles in a large bowl. Add the chopped greens and pour the hot broth over, allowing the greens to wilt slightly. Top the bowl with slices of the cooked beef skirt steak. If using, add a halved soft boiled egg.
