From Frozen to Fresh

We're Going Fresh

We’re excited to share that from Monday the 21st of August, your The Organic Butchery delivery will be bursting with fresh goodness, offering you the option to cook it fresh or freeze it at home to enjoy at a later date.

This decision is something we have been working on behind the scenes, listening to your feedback and debating the benefits of fresh and frozen meat. We have ultimately decided that fresh holds the most benefits for you, our customers.

So, what does this change mean for you and your future organic meat deliveries?

1)    The freshest meat possible

Our traditionally trained team of expert butchers will now only produce delicous cuts of our organic meat fresh to order for you.

This mean our organic steaks, roasting joints, mince, sausages, and more are all butchered, prepared and packed within 48 hours of delivery to your home.

Butchering in this way also furthers our nose-to-tail philosophy, helping with carcass balance and reducing food waste overall.

2)    Higher Quality and Flavour

Cut from the finest carcasses sourced from our farm and other local organic farmers, our meat is unrivalled in taste, texture and nutritional value resulting in a more tender and flavourful eating experience across all the different types of meat we provide.

3)    More Sustainable and Effective Packaging

Our fresh meat will be packaged with reduced packaging compared to frozen meat. This aligns with our company and customers' values of promoting sustainability and environmental friendliness in our deliveries.

4)    Versatility

Cooking fresh meat provides greater versatility than frozen.

With fresh meat, you can choose to cook it from fresh before its use by date, or freeze it to enjoy at a later date; an option which is not available once frozen meat has been defrosted.

Fresh meat also gives you a wider range of cooking techniques to use, such as grilling, searing, or roasting which generally produce a better result when used with fresh meat than frozen.

5)    Nutritional Value

Freezing meat tends to reduce its nutritional value, decreasing the number of vitamins and minerals present in the meat.
Going fresh means these nutrients are less likely to be lost, resulting in the best nutritional values in our organic meat for you to enjoy.
